In this video I talk about masks and PPE, and share some experiences that I had many years ago in British Steel.
We manufactured (obviously) steel products, but very very razor thin steel. Handling steel like that resulted in a real danger of very nasty cuts to the hands. It was one of our major problems.
Our sister company over in Germany manufactured exactly the same products and they got very few cuts to the hands. So we went over to Germany to see what their secret was, what their amazing gloves were - their amazing PPE. Do you know what the answer was? Watch the video!
In many ways it's the same with the masks. Obviously, I'm not condoning that people don't wear masks. What I think we all should think about is
are we thinking that just because we've got a mask on we’re infallible? Are we thinking that we're indestructible just because we've got a mask on?
